MoneyBird was my first real illustration project for a workshop class. The purpose behind the project was to create an image for an article highlighting illegal animal trade. Many animals today are illegally stolen from the wild and sold as house pets. These animals end up being abandoned due to their long lifespans and time-consuming management. Wild birds tend to be destructive, messy, and loud making them not beginner friendly pets. MoneyBird as an image aims to show how poachers look at these majestic birds.
